Humanitarian

The humanitarian crisis in Nigeria's north-east is one of the most severe in the world today. 7.7 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance and 1.6 million people are displaced in the three worst-affected states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe. Our humanitarian response started in 2014 when it was one of the first organisations to arrive in Maiduguri, Borno. Since then the response has reached more than 700,000 individuals, more than half of which are children.

We have a multi-sectoral response which includes:

  • Food Security and Livelihoods,
  • Protection,
  • Education,
  • Nutrition,
  • Water and Sanitation and
  • Hygiene.

We work in six local government areas in Borno, Maiduguri (MMC), Kaga, Magumeri, Mafa, Jere and Konduga, while the Response Field Office is based in Maiduguri.
